Trade Removal: Doubling down on Agent Intelligence

Trade Removal: Doubling down on Agent Intelligence

Elfa is entering a new chapter.

In recent months, we’ve seen exponential growth in API usage, reaching an all-time high for five consecutive months and surpassing 3.83M requests.

The rise in demand was a signal for us to narrow our focus to what we do best: delivering real-time market intelligence and giving financial agents the real-world context they need to act. As part of that shift, we’ll be discontinuing our Trade page on 10 September, 6am UTC.

When Elfa was founded in 2024, our thesis was simple: to build a rich data layer that helps anyone navigate the markets with greater ease and confidence. Over time, we found our edge in social signals, qualitative context, and real-time events.

Now, as AI and financial agents rapidly reshape how people interact with markets, that thesis feels more relevant than ever. Agents can process vast amounts of information and act at a speed humans can’t, but they’re only as good as the information they have access to. The next generation of financial agents will need more than raw market data; they'll need the signals, narratives, and real-time context that Elfa has been building from day one.

In many ways, this brings us back to where we started. We’re returning to our original thesis and doubling down on what we believe will power the next generation of finance.

Removing trading capabilities allows us to concentrate our resources and go all-in on being the intelligence layer for autonomous finance. Rather than building around and maintaining trade execution, we’ll be focusing on offering the best real-time awareness to power exchanges, execution venues, and financial agents with the data, signals, and context they need to navigate the market.

If you’re currently holding any assets on our platform, we recommend withdrawing your funds before the transition date. After the transition, your assets will still be available for withdrawal, but you will no longer be able to view them in the app. You can still access your assets by exporting your private key and importing them into a compatible wallet.

Actions to take before 10 September

If you are currently holding funds on Elfa, here are the steps you can take to withdraw your assets through our app.

Option 1: Withdraw your funds to a personal wallet

  1. Open Profile inside Elfa App.
  2. Click Send and select the assets you want to withdraw. Ensure the network matches.
  3. Enter the address of your personal wallet.
  4. Review and confirm the transaction.

Option 2: Export your wallet

  1. Open Settings inside Elfa App.
  2. Under General, scroll down to your wallet address and click Export.
  3. Copy your private key or seed phrase. Never share this with anyone, including Elfa team members.
  4. Import your private key or seed phrase into your personal wallet.
  5. Confirm that your balances have been transferred into the new wallet before considering the migration complete.

What happens after the transition date

After 10 September, our Trade page will be retired and will no longer support new transactions. The Elfa App will also no longer display wallet balances in your account.

If you fail to withdraw your funds before the transition, your assets will still be available. They remain on the blockchain and can be accessed by exporting your private key and importing them into a compatible wallet.

FAQ

Will Elfa contact me to help with the transition?

No. Elfa will never reach out asking for your seed phrase, private keys, or offering to move funds on your behalf. Anyone who does is trying to scam you. All legitimate guidance lives in this article and in-app.

I missed the deadline and my funds are still stuck on Elfa.

Your assets remain on the blockchain and can still be accessed by exporting your wallet using your private key or seed phrase and importing it into a compatible wallet.
