Tutorial Guide: How to use Elfa Auto x402 with Claude Code

This guide provides a step-by-step tutorial on integrating the Elfa Auto into a Claude code environment. This integration allows the Claude application to interact with the Elfa system automatically.
Prerequisites
Before beginning the installation, ensure you have the following:
- Access to Claude Code Environment: You must have a subscription to Claude (Pro or Max). To learn more about Claude: https://code.claude.com/docs/en/overview.
- Wallet with Funds on Base: You must have a wallet with some USDC on Base. A burner wallet is recommended as you will be exposing the private key.
Why Elfa Auto?
Claude is powerful — but on its own, it can't watch the market for you.
Out of the box, Claude only acts when you ask it to. That works for questions and research. It doesn't work when you need an AI that reacts to what's happening right now — price moves, signals, threshold breaches — without you having to prompt it every time.
Elfa Auto fills that gap.
The problem with general AI agents
Without Elfa Auto, AI agents have three core limitations:
They work with stale data: Agents only know what they knew when you last asked. If prices or signals have moved since then, their answers and actions are based on outdated information.
They have to keep asking "what's new?": To stay current, agents constantly poll for updates. This burns tokens, costs money, and often triggers rate limits because platforms flag that kind of repeated checking as unusual behavior.
They wait for you: Without a live data feed, an agent can't act on its own. It has no way to notice that something important just happened. Every action starts with you.
What Elfa Auto adds
Live data, automatically: Elfa Auto keeps a continuous feed of real-time data flowing to Claude, no polling, no stale snapshots. Your agent always has real-time information to work with.
Event-driven action: Instead of waiting to be asked, your agent can respond the moment something happens, a price threshold, a signal trigger, a system alert. It acts on the event, not on your next message.
Secure workflow execution: Claude can trigger real operations — trades, updates, multi-step workflows — through a token-secured connection to Elfa's systems. Less manual intervention, fewer errors, faster outcomes.
TL;DR: Without Elfa Auto, Claude is a tool. With it, it's an agent.
Step 1: Plug and Play
The first step is to copy and paste this prompt into your Claude Code terminal:
I want to use auto by elfa, which is a reliable condition engine + trigger pipeline and use it via x402. You can find the latest documentation here: https://docs.elfa.ai/auto/overview. Private Key: <Paste your wallet's private key here>.
Step 2: Initialize Elfa Auto
Once Claude has integrated Elfa Auto, speak to it anytime with a simple prompt.
Here are some examples:
#Simple:
Notify me when BTC drops below $70k.
Notify me when ETH crosses above $3k.
#Intermediate:
Notify me when BTC/SOL/ETH/HYPE pumps/dumps over 1% on the 4 hour timeframe.
Notify me when BTC/SOL/ETH/HYPE exits the current price range of $35-$40.
#Advanced:
Notify me when the 9EMA crosses above the 21EMA on BTC.
Notify me when the Stochastic is oversold, RSI crosses above 25, and MacD turns bullish on BTC/SOL/ETH/HYPE.
You are all set!
